SCC Softball Sends Trio to University of Mobile

The Southeastern Community College Softball Team continues to produce student-athletes that move on to the four year level. Head Coach Melissa Navntoft announced today that three of her starters are the first to sign with a four year university. Milagros Lozada (Venezuela), Mayles Rodriguez (Venezuela) and Haley Baker (Ft. Madison, IA) will continue their education and softball career at the University of Mobile (Alabama), under Head Coach Terri McCormick. The University of Mobile is a 4 year liberal arts school that competes in the NAIA division of collegiate athletics.

The Blackhawks finished 29-15 during the spring season claiming first place in the ICCAC Division I Conference. Lozada was the starting catcher for the Blackhawks finishing with a .422 batting average, Rodriguez was the starting short stop with a .371 batting average and Baker was the Blackhawks starting pitcher ending the season with a 21-8 record.
