Melissa Navntoft - Head Coach
Coach Melissa Navntoft is entering her 10th season as Head Coach of the SCC Softball Team. Navntoft brings a career record of 234-163. In her 2nd season the Blackhawks finished with a 39-6 record, most wins in school history, 2nd place conference finish and led the Blackhawks to a NJCAA Division II National Championship. After winning the National Title in 2003, the Blackhawks moved to Division I. In her 5th season the Blackhawks finished with a 43-14 record, 1st place conference finish and a National appearance in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament where the Blackhawk's finished 7th place. In 2009 the Blackhawks finished with a 29-17 record, 1st place conference finish, 1st place Regional and District Champions and qualified for a national appearance in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament where the Blackhawks finished itop twelve in the nation. Coach Navntoft is a native of Burlington, Iowa earning all-state honors. Melissa began her college career at the University of Northern Iowa. While attending UNI, Melissa was a member of the softball team. Upon finishing her softball career at UNI, Melissa transferred to Western Illinois where she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts.
