Summer tuition is due prior to the start of your classes. You must ensure that you’ve paid your bill in full, or have been awarded financial aid, in order to avoid being removed from your classes due to non-payment. Here are some of the questions commonly asked concerning summer bills:
How much is my summer tuition?
Your tuition charges for the summer term are based on the tuition rates set for the 2009-2010 academic year. To view a copy of SCC’s tuition rates visit the link below:
How do I view my bill using HawkNet? What about my financial aid?
HawkNet can provide you a great deal of important information, including the ability to view your student account (i.e. bill). To access HawkNet, follow the steps outlined on the link below:
Your student account information for the summer can be found by selecting “Financial Information” on the right of the screen (after you have logged-on). Then you must select “Account Summary.” At the bottom of the next screen, you will find “Account Summary by Term.” By selecting this link, you will access a user-friendly version of your summer tuition bill, including the addition of any financial aid awards.
Here are some helpful hints concerning Account Summary by Term:
Total Charges: This represents all charges you have accumulated for the summer term. If your charges have been paid in full by yourself or an outside agency, and you have no other financial aid, everything will be zero.
Student Payments: Payments you have made toward your account.
FA Payments: Any financial aid such as grants, scholarships, or loans transmitted to your account.
FA Remaining: This represents the net amount of your loan that will be transmitted to your account once the funds arrive at SCC.
Sponsor Payments: Any payment made on your account by an outside agency. Examples would include the Trade Act or the Workforce Investment Act.
Payment Plans: This will always be zero. If you are on a payment plan, it will show under student payments. There is no payment plan available for the summer term.
Total Payments: Financial aid payments + Financial aid remaining
Balance: This is the amount you owe if the number is positive. If it is negative, this is the amount you will receive in a balance check.
When is my summer tuition due?
Again, summer tuition bills are due prior to the start of your classes. If you’re planning to pay out of pocket, you may do so in person at the Business Office at the West Burlington campus or the Student Services Office at the Keokuk campus. Payments can also be mailed to:
Southeastern Community College
Attn: Business Office
1500 West Agency Road, PO Box 180
West Burlington, IA 52655-0180
If you’re expecting to use financial aid to pay for your summer classes, you must be awarded prior to the start of your summer term. If you do not notice any financial aid awards on Account Summary by Term, chances are you have not been awarded.
How do I Pay by Phone Using a Credit/Debit Card?
You can pay your tuition via phone by calling SCC's Business Office at 1-866-SCC-IOWA ext. 5041
Important Information Concerning Summer Pell Grants:
